HOLY LIVING, LIVING WHOLLY III: EXPLORING THE RULE OF BENEDICT
FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
Co-Sponsored by The Well and the Benedictine
Sisters of Baltimore
1500 years ago Benedict wrote a rule of life
for his monks, addressing issues that we face today: relationships,
hospitality, stewardship, community, authority, balance,
work, simplicity, prayer, and spiritual and human development.
Benedictine spirituality offers a way of life that speaks
to these issues, not in a set of prescriptions and regulations,
but rather in the shaping of attitudes of heart and mind
into the “mind and heart of Christ.” Using the
ancient text and commentary, and a variety of media and
process, participants will explore the ways this ancient
wisdom can speak words of hope to today’s culture.
